Annual Rally in Tally
Relatives raising grandchildren have begun to speak up � not just to their friends and relatives � but also to elected officials such as senators and representatives. A powerful example of grandparents� and other relatives� advocacy occurs in Florida each year (starting in 2001) when the Florida Kinship Center sponsors an event dubbed �Rally in Tally.� Relative caregivers from across the State journey to Tallahassee to walk the long halls of the Florida Capitol and share their many stories with Senators and Representatives. Every �Rally in Tally� event increases the awareness of legislators about the important and dedicated work of relative caregivers. After a long day in Tallahassee, these special caregivers return home exhausted but proud of their advocacy work that empowers all relatives raising relatives� children.

Macy's "Shop For A Cause"

Since 2006, Macy�s Shop For A Cause Event has partnered with non-profit organizations nationwide to raise more than $28 million for their ongoing charitable efforts. This is your chance to be part of this monumental event, annually held on a Saturday in October. Shop For A Cause gives you the opportunity to give back to your community and to help our institution by purchasing a $5 Shopping Pass* for exclusive savings in every Macy�s store on the designated day, and we keep 100%of the proceeds. Plus, you can enter to win a $500 Macy�s Gift Card. Come together with Macy�s and us, and celebrate a national day of support for our community.

Annual FKC Tail Gate Fundraiser

The Florida Kinship Center is a non-profit organization that relies on donations and grants for its day to day operation and services. Each November, the Tail Gate enables us to raise funds to support the center, while at the same time show our spirit and support of USF Football. Donors enjoy a tail gate party complete with tickets to a designated USF home football game, refreshments, and fabulous private auction providing an array of wonderful services and gifts. Be sure to join us in November for this wonderful event.

The Giving Tree

The Florida Kinship Center sponsors a Holiday Season Giving Tree decorated with 'ornaments' identifying the needs of children and caregivers in over 200 area families. Our center elves wrap and deliver the gifts to ensure our families have some holiday joy. During the holiday season, be sure to contact us at kinfo@flkin.org, or visit us at the USF School of Social Work and select an 'ornament' off our tree.
